Mission

IAVFA’s Mission is to provide resources to members and to enhance their status, credentials, and esteem in the field of valuations, financial actuarial science, and other related advisory services in Israel. To further this purpose, IAVFA will advance these services as an art and science, establish standards for membership in IAVFA, provide professional education and research, foster practice development, advance ethical and professional practices, enhance public awareness of IAVFA and its members, and promote working relationships with other professional organizations.

 

To achieve these purposes, IAVFA carries out numerous activities, including, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Advancement, communication, and enforcement of standards of ethical and professional practice;

 

  • Development and presentation of quality educational and training programs; and/or

 

  • Certification of practitioners on the basis of professional competence, ethics, independence, and objectivity.

 

This includes the establishment of criteria for certification as a Corporate Finance Valuator (CFV), Quantitative Finance Valuator (QFV), Financial and Economic Modelist (FEM), Market Risk Actuary (MRA), Credit Risk Actuary (CRA), Operational Risk Actuary (ORA), Investment Risk Actuary (IRA), Life Risk Actuary (LRA), and Pensions Risk Actuary (PRA);

 

  • Fostering public awareness that a credentialed member has met and continues to abide by standards of ethical conduct, objectivity, and independence and performs his or her services at the highest level of professional competence; and/

 

  • Promoting and enhancing collegial and professional relationships among members of the Association and other professional organizations.

The Israel Association of Valuators and Financial Actuaries (IAVFA) is a professional organization, an institution for professional training and a body which specializes in placing professional employees in the financial sector in Israel. IAVFA strives to voluntarily regulate the professions of valuation and financial actuarial science in Israel, both by setting pre-qualification requirements, ethical principles for practitioners in these professions, and by training and certifying quality professionals for these professions. IAVFA provides both placement services in order to integrate its credentialed members in leading positions within the Israeli labor market, and mediation services between valuation consumers and valuation specialists.
